Snow Fox

In the height of a winter storm, I see a creature – white as snow. With crystal blue eyes, Fluffy as a cloud, soft as feathers. Walking towards the creature, Sinking in the snow. Its canine eyes meet mine. A look of fright, worry. Its ears tilt back, sharp teeth show. Amidst all the wind, hear its growl. Low, fierce, protective. I slow my pace. The chilly winter wind picks up, The growl, seeming fiercer. Wind suddenly subsides, the growing stops. She is gone.
