snow globe

Sometimes, I imagine my life is a snow-globe, protected in my own bubble surrounded by the most breathtaking views of meadows and petals, fresh lavender kissing my skin.

But then I remember the mundane reality of my greyscale life and the shackles of restriction forced upon my wrist slowly but surely they are wearing me thin.

The beauty of a snow-globe, safe from the world, wrapped up in bubble wrap and tucked away with precaution and care,

But also forgotten at the back of the cupboard, making appearances only one time a year.

Wouldn't it be nice? To be alone in peace, only with your thoughts and to liberate your mind,

To the harsh truths and coldness you'll forever remain blind.

I used to imagine my life as a snow-globe, delicate with fragility, a thin layer to block it all out,

But all I can see is being shaken and stirred, prodding and shattered now all my mind's filled with is doubt!
