Snow White
I was raised on the delusions of a fairytale future
So what I thought was to come would be a classic disney picture
But to my surprise I was awakened to find that the authors who sunk their ink into my skin were none other than the infamous and twisted Brothers Grimm
So like all stories at first
It started at birth
My mother in labor with no father there for her
And like that fate was engraved
The family line of pain I became
The cold gun on my uncle’s head that brought death from a game of russian roulette
The empty bottles that caused my ancestors abusive rage
The absent fathers who twisted their children’s mental state
The drugs, the blood, the used, and the insane
So any potential lover who tried to cross me whether for love or my body never had a chance because this DNA rots me
but I couldn’t stop these things you see
I continued the legacy
I dance with the flames
And each day the flames heat soaks into my being like a disease
and the flames fire burns scars leaving labels in black and bold that reads “warning this freak is broken and cold”
I have been infested with the darkness that comes with humanity
I am no longer the “Branquinha de Neve” my grandmother once called me (snow white)
And I know my story is not quite complete but I am done awaiting my happy ending
So Grimm Brother’s I demand you give me the ink because now this princess is ready to reign queen
And to the other princesses with stories like mine it is time we rise and take back our lives
We will no longer be used like dirty sink drains and our minds will no longer rain storms of self hate
so I’m sorry but us princesses are done with this rhyming game
Put down the razor and stop looking at that magazine
Quit hiding your gorgeous face and soak in the sun’s rays
Stop starving yourself and eat a buffet
Love yourself and every living being you come across because no one is worthy of any pain and if there is one thing I learned from those dancing flames is that
Peace and love is the way
Let me share with you this ink and together we can write our own stories
