Snowboarding
Between my feet and the floor,
The board rests; like a hinge on a door,
Along the trees a creaking sound
While the ski lift reaches to higher ground;
The people, snowboarding, I gaze down
They disappear among the trees
Moving fast, boarding to the end
Weaving in and out through other boarders
Where they are snowboarding.
Feet planted in the bindings,
Steady form all the way down.
Feel the adrenaline rush through your body
Faster and faster
Till there is nowhere else to go.
The strength, the power you feel
When you glide down the mountain
A board, bindings, and boots;
All you need to try it out.
Starting with the bunny hill,
Working your way up.
Finally, gain the courage
Jump on the ski lift
Take a deep breath,
GO! Snowboarding.
The brisk air against your face,
Ice cold snow flying around.
Exhilarating; reach the end.
Do it all over again.
Between my feet and the floor,
The board rests.
I’ll live with it.
