The Snowman

There once was a happy snowman.

Who was a good neighbor.

He would go and catch all the snow.

He asked for no favors.

One day he pondered about warmth.

To touch the warm feeling.

He set out to make it come true,

But friends knew his doing.

“It is too dangerous,” they said.

“Can’t be done,” they exclaimed.

But the snowman knew he could.

He wasn’t one bit scared.

Day after day, snowman wait,

As the sun got hotter.

The snowman was sweating a storm.

He needed some water.

He saw his sweat and he licked the drop.

“Yum, I think I want more.”

The snowman licked his sweat again.

Then stopped cause his tongue was sore.

He looked and spotted a puddle.

Water came from his face.

He looked up then and announced,

“I know! I have solved this case!”

The good snowman feared for his life.

Any longer he’d melt.

He should’ve listened.

Pain struck below his belt.

As his legs slowly melt away,

He screamed, “Help,” but all was dead.

He was alone and slowly dying.

Better have thought to think ahead.
