So Deal With It

So Deal with It!

You ask me who I am, but the first question should be who aren’t I.
It seems like a good place to start to know me for me.
I am not my past, my mistakes, or my failures.
I will never be my weight, my age, or my IQ.
I am not what everyone else thinks I am.

I am Tamra.
I was Tamra yesterday, I am Tamra today and I will be Tamra tomorrow.

I am member of a family who hold values and traditions as number one.
The daughter of parents who taught me to only open my mouth after thinking.
A sister to a brother who has tried everything and one who has tried nothing.
I am a cousin, niece, granddaughter, and relative to a long line of greats.
I am my heritage and honor it the way I live.

I am Tamra.
I was Tamra yesterday, I am Tamra today and I will be Tamra tomorrow.

I am a member of a thriving village that has helped raise me.
An aspiring missionary with a passion for helping others.
A developing Musician with a love for what I do.
I have been known to be a dedicated debater.
But most important of all I am a thinker and an inspirer

I am Tamra.
I was Tamra yesterday, I am Tamra today and I will be Tamra tomorrow.

I am a soon to be adult with more fears then I can count.
A teenager being crushed daily by others expectations
A student not reaching her “full potential”
I am a child of God but still trying to figure out what that means.
I am a struggling child take it one day at a time.

I am Tamra.
I was Tamra yesterday, I am Tamra today and I will be Tamra tomorrow.

I am brave, courageous and strong despite the cards I have drawn in life.
I am kind, sweet and caring even if I am not treated the same way.
I am knowledgeable, intelligent and witty despite my low GPA and ACT score.
I am contumacious, rebellious and wayward but I always know which way is up.
I am hubristic, confident and self-assured despite the negativity of the world.

I am Tamra.
I was Tamra yesterday, I am Tamra today and I will be Tamra tomorrow.
So deal with it.
