So I Became a Person
So I became a person
When I realied that
I don't have it so bad
After talking to a little girl
In the hospital waiting room
With a health condition more severe than mine,
Yet a radiance and smile greater than mine.
So I became a person
When I had learned to
Enjoy my problems
After crying in Uruguay
Because I missed my dad
Only for my tears to be wiped by uncle,
Who didn't even have a dad to miss.
So I became a person
When it hit me that
After a friend from Corona
Who came over to my house
Which I had once considered to small,
Had envied the fact that
I even had my own bed to sleep in.
So I became a person
When I developed some perspective.
Then and only then,
Could I grow into
The best state of mind
And the best version of myself.
