So I Did Trust

Rivers flow from betrayed eyes, Streaming down ivory slopes. Locks that once held secrets so dear Now broken for all to see. The castle is under siege, Bombarded from all sides With no protection The enemy, one who we once held close Fierce, hateful lies are the weapon of choice those within the castle walls shake in disgust and weep with regret their secrets, dreams, and hopes lay strewn across the battlefield safety once felt, now crumbled into dust the deed is done, the assailant emerges from the shadows remorse in their hearts for what they’ve done but turned backs greet them and pick up the fallen the locks are changed, the secrets hidden it will be long before anyone is allied again
