So I Try

So I try put my dreams out for all of you to see,

Yet I am held back by brittle self esteem.

My self esteem can shatter just like that,

And my mind is made of glass,

So there I go.

So I try to save someone from what I have faced,

Yet I can't even speak a saving grace.

My past won't seem to stay where is belongs,

And I've been feeling like this for far too long,

So there I go.

So I have been trying and trying,

Yet everyday I fall.

Can anybody catch me,

Or will I lose it all?

The monsters are haunting the person I try to be,

I want to be alone but I don't want to be lonely.

That's me.

I'm a living contradiction held together by glass,

Beaten down by words and help back by the past.

But even when I feel like I'm about to die,

I'm still gonna try.
