So I Write

Writing, for me, is therapeutic

Life happens and emotions overwhelm me

I need to put them somewhere

I need a way to deal with them

Sometimes I feel unappreciated

I need to vent my frustration

So I write

Sometimes my self-esteem has taken a blow

My confidence is cracked and almost shattered

I need to feel loved

So I write

There are times I feel alone, irrelevant, and invisible

I need to exist

I AM HERE

So I write

Sometimes what I feel and think is deemed unimportant

So I get interrupted or silenced

I need to be heard

MY VOICE MATTERS!!

So I write

My emotions cloud my judgment

Much like fog on a bathroom mirror

I can’t see my reflection

I need to see clearly

So I write

I need to pour my sorrow, fear, and frustrations onto blank pages

The flow of emotions from my fingertips to the page

Make room in me for happiness, acceptance, and love

So I can write some more
