So it Begins.......

It’s been a hard week

And she’s really weak

So when it comes to Friday

Its time to release

Unsure of how to do it right

See she had already convinced herself

She left that life, but see maybe Satan didn’t hear you

Or maybe he did he just tuned you out

Because last time you tried to change

You changed again and said I want out

So he laughs,

While you cry

Immediately interrupted by friends

Who say they have plans for the weekend

Ignoring the renewed state of mind

She finds in Gods presence

The carnal brain takes dominion

And drains

Convincing herself this time

Will be the last that this lifestyle

Will finally be a part of the past

But not so fast

The grips of tradition don’t loosen

Because you tell it to

It’s trained to trap you

So tired of convictions

Wavering in her spirit

Knowing if she doesn’t go

She’s really going to hear it

Allowing the flesh to speed

Past the spirit with ease

And have the nerve to roll

Down the window and wave

It’s always been bold

Never having to compete

Its compelled to expand substantially

Recognizing a foreign light in its darkness

Not strong enough to stand up

So she sits down

And gets ready

Down the street her heels hit the pavement

Making deals with the Lord

As if it’ll be some type of repayment

But please

She knows this night all to well to pretend

I mean its like re-administering a drug into your soul

You swore you quit cold

Unaware of the grasp and its entire hold

So she prays

Prays for the mercy she’s getting anyway

See her flesh didn’t know any better

And she thought I accepted Christ

So it’s supposed to get better

Not knowing that this decision

Would be a process

Instead of the instant change she anticipated

Her intentions were right

But her flesh kept going left

And the two directions can’t function

Simultaneously in her body

So she is at war

And I hope she knows what she's fighting for
