So Long

The music echoes still inside my head,

The bright colors still dance before my eyes,

And memories are fresh within my mind,

Though it’s been so long.

I look through old albums and reminisce,

On these childhood vacations long since past,

And longing stirs up deep within my chest.

Yes, it’s been so long.

But, oh, I fear it will be longer yet,

For I have not the time and not the means,

Till then, I’ll hold to all my memories…

…But it’s been so long.

Hello! I'm a writer from Texas. I'm more used to writing prose, but I write poetry from time to time. I like literature, folklore, theology, and tea. I'm a Christian, so some of my poetry may reflect this.
