For so long
I’ve had my hand in the air for so long
That I even found time to write this song
Or maybe a poem, whatever
What matters is this prolonged endeavor
The teacher told me to lift up my hand
If I discovered that I understand
The answer to the question that she asked
But that was 600 years in the past
There’s cobwebs forming on my elbow
On my fingers, mold is starting to grow
A village of bugs has set-up their home
And their explorers have begun to roam
Setting up my colonies across my arm
I’d flick them off, but I don’t like to harm
Now they’re evolving and they’re advancing
From cavemen to renaissance, they’re dancing
And painting and strumming and they’re learning
Now they’re in battle, the times keep turning
Before I knew it, they became advanced
Completely different than when they just danced
They’re smarter than us, no longer dancers
“Oh no, I think I forgot the answer”
