So Long Superman
I used to think you were my Superman
Someone that would always be there to give me a hand
When we played in that sandbox
And you’d helped me collect rocks
When that little girl caused me torture and pain
You were the one that stopped her game
But you left you fled
You didn’t do anything you said
You missed your little sister growing up
And you weren’t there when your little brother got beat up
No instead your days consisted of getting faded
The memories we had begun to be to be hated
I want to know what does “family” mean to you
In what order do you put family, pills, and booze
When Mom found those bullets you acted like “no big deal”
You put us in danger, do you not consider us real
I used to think you were my almighty protector
There was no doubt in my mind that you were my Prince Hector
But I’ve come to realize
You’re just a little boy in disguise
I’m beginning to think it was all just an act
You’re just someone that can run after he’s packed
You use to say you never wanted to be like your father
But have you forgotten you too left your baby with his mother
What happened to the hero I used to see
What happened to the person I used to want to be
I loved your big bear hugs
Even as squeezed the air out of my lungs
You see giving you a second chance is like giving you a second bullet
Because you missed us the first time you decided to pull it
But you hadn’t his us hard
Just barely skimmed us you did
So we kept giving you those bullets
Because family never quits
But wait, does family cheat, steal, and lie
Or is your excuse just when you’re getting high
You finally pushed it way to far
You didn’t just break his heart but you broke ours
I use to pray that you’d change
But now I see you pushed god way out of your range
I wish so bad that this poem wasn’t reality
I wish so bad you weren’t the person you try to be
Now I don’t even consider you family
Now I just consider you a bad memory
