So Much for the Dream

Dying hope: The subtle panic As I watch the number fall; Week after week, Month after month, No after no. Miser that I am, I keep saving, But can't save Myself as my value drops. The cost of unemployment, Gaps in the record, Keep me jobless. They let me go. How do I afford meds When I'm told to work? How do I work When I can't afford meds? I must work for three months To eat for one. Life here Is a death sentence; Disability Is the crime.
