there was so much more in between our hello,

and goodbye.

i have to remind myself, 

of the love i whole-heartedly had for you.

and not just remember the pain that came with that.

yes,

we didn’t work out.

yes, 

you left.

yes,

you single-handedly broke my heart.

but,

we loved each other .

and i think that’s enough.

so,

it wasn’t just a goodbye.

it was a,

“maybe you’re just not my person.”

and as much as that pains me,

it means i’m not yours either.
