So Wrong

Back when I was a kid All I wanted was to be a grown up. It looked a lot like fun, But now I realize how oh so wrong I was. Back when I was barely walking I looked up to my parents and grandparents. They made being an adult look easy. But now I realize how oh so wrong I was. I was lucky as a kid Really the word is nieve Didn't realize life had a tax To live you must pay To pay you must work To work you must go to school To go to school you must pay That all seems twisted to me It sounded easy when I was a kid But now I realize how oh so wrong I was. Back when I was a kid I started to grow up I gained skills that made me feel grown up I was so independent I felt like I could do anything But now I realize how oh so wrong I was. Back when I was little I didn't realize my parents struggled Sometimes bills were hard to pay Sometimes clothes were hard to get I was greatful for what I had I thought we had everything in the world But now I realize how oh so wrong I was. Back when I turned 10 I didn't know what suicide was And then I learned what it was I didn't think anyone close to me would do it But now I realize how oh so wrong I was. Back when I was in elementary school I thought I had it all I thought my friends were friends for life I thought life was perfect I thought bullies were a myth But now I realize how oh so wrong I was. Once I reached middle school I had a lot of changes going on And I don't mean puberty Friends became enemies Enemies became bullies Daydreams turned into sadness Sadness turned to depression Worry turned to anxiety Those combined turned to suicide; Before I was in high school I never knew much of politics I never knew much of the world drama I always thought all people were good I thought the world can't be that bad But now I realize how oh so wrong I was. Back when I was in early high school I didn't think I'd reach that point I didn't think depression was so bad I didn't think anxiety was so bad I didn't think suicide was my solution But now I realize how oh so wrong I was. Back then, I thought life was miserable I thought there was no point in going on I thought no one loved me I thought I was a mistake I thought God despised me But now I realize how oh so wrong I was. Back then I didn't have what I have now I didn't have the same hope I didn't have the same amazing people I didn't have the same amazing job I didn't realize how oh so wrong I was. Life gets better Life is good It's important to be there to see it get better
