Soak in silence
The heart is pumping, the mind moves in wonder, but I still sit in silence, why is that? My thoughts are racing but my mouth isn’t moving, why is that? The glimmers in my eyes but my face stays disguised, why is that? Is it because the lies and disbelief that I’ve come across? Is it because my mum was an unpredictable drinker? Is it because my Father just enters my life and wants me to forgive him for the time he missed?
The heart is pumping, the mind moves in wonder, but I still sit in silence, why is that? My thoughts are racing but my mouth isn't moving, why is that? The glimmers in my eyes but my face stays disguised, why is that? Is it because lies and disbelief that I've come across? Is it because the lies that I have been told? Is it because of the life I am exposed to? Is it because of the violence I have seen? It is because I haven't got a chance to be a child?
I repeat, The heart is pumping, the mind moves in wonder, but I still sit in silence, why is that? My thoughts are racing but my mouth isn't moving, why is that? The glimmers in my eyes but my face stays disguised, why is that? Is it because lies and disbelief that I've come across? Is it because of the black on black crimes? Is it because of the judgment and hate people give to one another? Is it because of all the families that's disUnited? Is it because all the young folks that place in cells for a stupid mistakes?
But what if the heart stops pumping,
And if my mind stops wondering
If the silence breaks ?
And there’s no glimmer in my eyes
I’m no longer in disguise
My heart is cold
My emotions stop
The problems I come across will never stop
I understand that now
So I continue to sit
To sit in silence
Now I know that the silence will never break (AJ)
