Sober

We sit here

we cry

and we cry some more.

Trying to imagine ourselves floating on shore

sinking deeper, and deeper into the sea,

the sea that holds all of our dreams.

we really want to understand

why sometimes we feel like your biggest fan

we never assume the worst of you men,

Only seeing that you guys are gentlemen

hoping one day you men could see

the pretty blossoms we turned out to be

we would sacrifice everything that's ours

to keep you right beside us

right next to our hearts

hope you'd understand the day we leave

because that's the day that we succeed.

Now you'll understand what it feels like to be alone

When we were together, you wouldn't even pick up the phone

So you sit there

you cry

and you cry some more

Trying to imagine yourselves kneeling on the floor

taking our hands saying "what have I done?"

Us women are standing above you saying "now we're having fun"
