Social Chains
A young girl's spirit is held captive by social chains of acceptance.
Her heart cries out for creativity but her feet follow the path of social norm.
Her mind is molded by hands of authority.
Her ability to think for herself is lost.
The only voice she challenges is her own
Her sense of self no longer shown
The need for approval is too strong,
her thoughts are no longer her own.
Her dreams are lost, her passion quenched
Who is the girl hiding behind her books drudging
down the path of approval.
This girl is later challenged by a persistant need to find truth and happiness.
She slowly takes off her self imposed chains and her spirit, slowly surfaces,
her creativity emerges. She is strengthened by her courage to discover herself.
Her need for approval is turned inward
Her mind no longer a prisoner releases her self worth and her confidence back to her soul.
Her radiating voice is heard and her actions reflect her inner truth giving her purpose.
Now her feet dance to the music of her heart as her soul bursts into vibrant shades of her true existence.
