Social Media

I feel like a mindless droid

Scrolling and scrolling in search of something to stimulate my numb mind

I see a pretty girl: “I want to look like that”

[Little did I know… that girl hates her body too]

I see a family on vacation in Greece: “I wish I could afford a trip to Greece”

[Little did I know… that family got into a fight before taking the picture]

I see a celebrity driving their exotic car: “I want that car”

[Little did I know… that celebrity has worked their tail off to afford that car]

I want, I wish, I want

Social media only portrays the highlights of life.

In reality, life isn’t that perfect
