We are at a point in history where we aren't afraid to be free

No more asking "is it okay to be me?"

Women now have the right to voice their opinion in what they say

Even though we are still working on equal pay. 

Our children can go to the same schools to learn

Equal opportunity subsides unfairness and makes the bad feelings burn. 

Now with laws making it lawlful to be gay,

Being who you are is accepted and okay.

Although discrimination between us is now at a high,

I think in due time we will be waving that goodbye. 

Society, for now, has changed for good,

But only time will tell if this is just misunderstood.
