Societal Limits
Who am I to think imma make it?
Well if the shoe fits
But it doesn't
Cuz all my sisters, brothers, and cousins
Are ridiculed by others
So they kill one another
Then they join the dozens
In the prison trapped into insanity
Vainity is what caused it
Cuz we are so consumed with
The money
Cars
Clothes
The hoes
I suppose
But their shoes are fake
Their rent is late
The money hard to make
But I just want to be successful!
Is that possible when living in a hell hole
When the nights are cold
Everything new is old
But then I ask my sisters and brothers
Where are your mothers?
Trying to pay the bills
Or layin up with Bill
Figuring out your next meal
Or serving everyone her meal
Is that the reason for your pregnancy
Your black and fifteen!
Shame on you!
But Susie, Jane, and Jessica are subject to fame
For the same thang?
This world hasn't changed
Were still a minority
And they make it their priority
To watch us in the stores
Condescend us to the core
Beat are reputations til their sore
Prosecute us to the floor
So open your eyes my sister
Open your eyes my brother
Cuz the time keeps going
Learn more and more
Is all I meant
Because these are our societal limits
