Society

Society tells us to be perfect.

Perfect:

being complete without defeact or blemish.

Society tells us to be normal:

Normal:

conforming to a typical standard.

What happened to "always be yourself"

and "don't change for anyone"

and as we finally felt confident about ourselves,

the world's turned upside down.

Everything's different.

You can't like video games,

be good at sports.

You need to wear layers of makeup to step outside.

Guys have to wear baggy pants

Girls: wear tight clothes

But NOT That tight!

Suddenly it's a competition for friends

quantity over quality

It's about how many poeple know your name

not about how you treat them.

Do whatever it takes to get your name out

Whatever it takes.

Somewhere through the years

our values have disappeared

like a balloon in the sky

slowly being forgotten.

We live by "all men are treated equal"

but do we really live that way?

My question is

since when has is been acceptable

to treat people like crap.

Calling them names- fat, slut, ugly.

What happened to "treat people like you want to be treated"

HOw does it make YOU feel to be called that?

Crappy? LIke you're not good enough? A failure?

That's how other people feel when you call them that.

So why do you intentionally hurt them?

You know deep down that it's not them, it's you.

You don't like something about yourself

so you take it out on them.

Guess what? These people blame themselves because

you make them believe that

They

are the problem,

believing that they are fat, ugly

even if they are beyond beaustiful.

But you changed that,

you took away their confidence,

something everyone deserves.

You push them to their ends

They try to hold on but

with every new name you give them

their hope slips away until

they have nothing to hold on to.

Why do they deserve to feel this way?

They don't. No one does.

But your words put demons in their head.

Demons they can't escape.

Demons that push them to take their life.

Their Beautiful Life.

And now? Your words have changed

the world again.

That girl who sits behind you in math,

is gone.

That guy who sits alone at lunch,

it gone.

It happened because of your words.

The words society gives you.

Society telling us that it's okay to treat people like this

because WE have to be perfect, normal, popular, to fit in with everyone else

so it's okay to make fun of that person

whose a little different.

That's the problem with society.

So next time.

Think twice.

How would you feel?
