I am  a black person living in America

I wonder what black privilege would look alike

I hear hands up don’t shoot

I see Michael Brown down

I want to know if being black is a crime

I am a black person living in America

I pretend to breath when “I can’t breathe”

I feel scared walking in street with my hoodie on

I touch the heart of those hurt

I worry about my brothers and sisters’ lives

I cry to God why it got be us

I am a black person living in America

I understand all lives matter but not blacks

I say there got to be a change

I dream of equality, peace and love

I try to speak up against racism

I hope of equal privilege and justice for all

I am a black person living in America with Hope.
