Society
I got caught up into “filter” mentality
And a filtered mentality
Believing everything I said
Had to be watered down
Or people would laugh at me
I was born understanding
Its not whats meant, but what had to be
But maybe it has always been, and doesnt really have to be
Maybe it’s too late to see the lights at the end of the tunnel
And maybe I am too great to be losing faith
Or sinking in puddles
And maybe sadness is limited
To each its own, its militant
And every depressed mind has gotten caught up in the thrill of it
Maybe life is worth it
But whats its worth if youre not living
What if at the birth of it
You tarnished the real feeling
And what if maybe hate was your first introduction to love
And what if maybe its polar opposites
That youre most afraid of
What if loneliness
Is only a shadow of being empty
Im saying that maybe people are around
But no one is left in me
And maybe all of these thoughts dont brew from anxiety
Its the mind processing a life of variety
When its possible to be this or that
Nor this nor that
And your thoughts are rioting
And deciding
That maybe its not that difficult
And maybe it was just society
