society.

Long hair, light skin, green eyes, and nice shape.

The only thing guys look for these days.

So us as females wanting to fit the description,

We flaw our beautiful chocolate skin due to skin bleaching.

Males aren’t less different, disrespecting our sistas when all we’ve been is humble

Just to come running back to us watching your walls crumble, not such a big bad guy right?

That’s what’s wrong with society, we want to fit in and be something we’re not,

Just like hydrogen on the periodic table, we all see that little block.

Drugs, gangs, and sex are all elements of peer pressure,

“Just do it” This is not what Nike meant.

2016 is a generation of a wannabes and pretend to be’s.

We’re all searching for a home and depression is letting us in, and like lost souls we fill up each orbital till the end because we’re all in the same situation.

At 9 we were so happy

Spiraling down at 10 we started seeing how cruel the world really was

11 was the year of rebellion

12 is acceptance

13 starting to feel grown

14 starting to think we can do it on our own

15 we were nonmetals and lacked characteristics basically 15 was a midlife crisis

Finally 16 and I’m trying to be successful but my conscience keeps fighting, denying the drive and the urge to be something

Overcame a lot and no it wasn’t easy, it isn’t a good feeling knowing my own father hates me.

Seeing my mother scrape up $5 dollars in change just so she can feed me.

We were giving this life, no we didn’t ask for it.

If I would've known about the trials and tribulations

I would’ve made a run for it

With a generation like this I’m surprised I actually made it,

Some girls my age are putting up a fight to end their regular circle of life.

Just cause their momma was a lady of the night they're probably at some mans window asking if he’s looking for a good night.

Young men making love and being called daddy but out making babies and don’t wanna be called a father.

Leaving the little girl and her child alone in solitary.

Boys out here shooting their homies to fit in,

Flashing the drug money while their momma struggling to meet ends.

And ladies it’s not cute to be known as easy target.

Keep your present to yourself and make sure that you guard it.

2016 was nothing that spectacular, just a year of trash rappers and few people to hear my laughter.

Everyone wants to be different and that's what makes us all the same.

We are all covalent electrons, and we share some type of bond.

I don’t know what is but we’re the reason the world keeps on spinning.
