Society Doesn't Own Me

The struggle is hard

To believe in Him

When you can’t see

Or feel or hear Him.

To hold on tightly

Even when the world

Is telling you that

It isn’t right.

You can feel yourself

Fighting to stay strong

Because you know that

Even though others are

Telling you that it’s

Wrong He is the only

Person who is there

Through thick and thin when

You are at your all time low

And when you are at

Your high. He brings joy

When you least expect it.

That’s why I believe.

That’s why society

Doesn’t own me.

I am 18 years old and am a senior at LHS. My dream is to go to college and discover what the world has planned for me. I am going to go to Oregon State University and study Zoology then one day hopefully become a zookeeper or work at a big cat sanctuary.
