The Society of Flawlessness

The Society of Flawlessness

by Alexandra Johnston-Carnes

As a girl, we are expected to be flawless.

We are expected to be complex and insane.

Expectations have no effect on me,

So I suppose that is a reason why I am flawless.

People who say they have no flaws, they are the ones who have the most.

Those who accept who they are,

Who accept their flaws,

Those people are the ones who are flawless to me.

It is sad that our society is comprised of expectations.

Even the lowest expectations are never met.

That is the flaw of the world.

Anyone with any sense would know that nothing is flawless,

As humans, we are the creatures with the most flaws.

Consumed by greed, hate, lying, deceit.

Trusting people that we never meet,

Us as a people are one big flaw.

We just need to accept it all.

Well I guess you can say I'm a bit awkward and slightly crazy.
