Tensity fills the air

we are all in for a scare

the drum of our heartbeats

rushes faster with the heat

My mind is wide open

but my mouth so closed

I feel uneasy, sweaty

nervous, clammy

But this is the thrill of the lifetime

because the moment my mouth opens

the entire room silences to hear

and somehow,

someway,

I end up

blowing people away

For some reason my words

seem bigger than the peep of the birds

How funny, I think

because my voice is nothing much but a squeak

So I think to myself

that if for the rest of my life

I can live on such a high

then baby,

I am golden.
