Soft Nights of Trust

It's in your eyes,

The love that fills them

And the way they never leave mine.

It's in your movements,

The gentle way you pull me closer,

Letting me know you're still there.

My heart swells each time you tell a new secret;

I can almost feel the trust between us.

Those late-night phone calls that last until dawn,

When we're worlds apart but your love still reaches me,

Even in the dead of night.

Because love like ours is matched by none,

For everyone has sky high expectations

And ugly jealousy hiding at their feet--

Though we stay connected through trust

Because a love like ours was built on it,

And I don't intend on snipping that red rope

Any time soon.
