Softball

Nine players, seven innings, a bat, and a glove.
Early mornings, long drives, coolers, and dirt.
Softball is a lifestyle, a game that I love.
Sometimes a tough loss really can hurt.
Criticized by many, it is a real sport.
Although running is little, technique is required.
Innings may be endless, but can also be short.
Seven innings of pitching will make you tired.
We spend several hours with coaches that care.
Load, toe touch, “elvis”, contact, and extension.
You know you have failed when Coach Mack gives the stare.
Although this is much, there is more I could mention.
It’s more than a game, instead it’s a passion.
Sunscreen, tan lines, and sweat are in fashion.
