The Sojourner
Will I get home tonight?
Will I see those I've left behind?
Will there be worries from tonight
Whether or not I've left all behind?
Can I meet the smiles that leaves me aglow?
Can I meet the eyes and hearts that wished me well?
Can I get the embrace left by hands out in flow
Of welcome or of those n'er wishing me well?
Will I have a rough journey back?
Will life be fair as my understanding isn't much?
Will my legs touch the soil that mark
My origin from where I got lunch?
Will the dust of the earth be my cover
From whence man and all living are uncovered?
Will it be fast or quick my cover?
Will I be up living uncovered?
Peace has seen me, pain has faced me
My troubled heart hovering
Now and then if death surely will befall me
Will or will not my journey get a manoeuvring?
I've seen sorrow, I've known worries
From faces through troubled eyes
I've heard cries, I've known the gasp of final breath in moments of merries
Will life be fair with no lies
That I arrive at my very laps?
Not my very laps
Such are that each embarking seems to be my very laps
Such is my heart burdened with loads of taps
Will life show me it's very laps?
Here I wait in puzzlement
Only life can unravel
Has it partnered death in such bewilderment
Or has life and death seen my travel?
Looks like I've made it
Look how Far I've come
From whence I left
Life has left me in doubt
Now I'm what it never thought of
My Driver was in control still
Of what can I say but be thankful
He got on my case with no worries
Come in, I know your destination
I Am not limited by Time nor Death
I'm in charge of the road you take
Here I am kept safe and sound
From my worries and troubles
I can't say what lies ahead or awaits
But My Driver saw it All
What more is it than to be an indelible passenger on board?
