The Soldier Saved

Too many nights spent thinking

Imagining your face

Between the fits of hating

Myself, I’m a disgrace

Your eyes they pierce the loathing

Reality brought back

You fell into the fighting

To pick up my own slack

You claim that I am worthy

That I have done what’s right

You pulled me from my agony

Now please just hold me tight
