Somatic Sensitivities

It's a tough world out there
for those taking off those caps and gowns
and then heading to yet another interview,
yet another resume tweak, yet another cover letter.

But I think we can, and will, all find our place
where we can serve and be served,
where we can find stability as well as fulfillment.

For me, that place is in movement with those
coming to me with specific needs I can help them meet.

"Dance/movement therapy....that sounds cool!";
many in the general public intrigued, yet sorely uninformed
of what it is, how it can help - in some ways that talk therapy just can't.

Whatever the individual, whatever the group, whatever the challenge

they present, leading them to seek a better way through the practice,

we can offer breath, dissolving of tension, ways to think about why/how

they just moved a certain way - ways to walk out and into a brighter day.
