Some Kind of Magic

There’s a certain nostalgia that rests in the humid air
a screen porch at night
at the very end of an ephemeral summer
when the world is lit up only by moonlight and fireflies
theres a certain magic that hits the wind-chimes with the breeze
It makes you feel small
small and wild
like a child again
so like a child you wrap yourself up in a blanket
fold your hands around a mug of something warm
and wait for the world to show you what comes next
