some questions for the cosmos

to the stars lightyears away

can you hear me way out there?

do you feel my tearful stare

as i silently speak to you

in what can only be called prayer

on the planets in your orbit

is there anyone like me?

are there planets with creatures in the sea?

the vast and expanding void

must contain at least two or three

unfathomable distances lie between us

our sun to the next star to the next one

what does it matter anyway?

the sun will explode one day

years and years after

my body has decayed
