some would say...

Dear Ex,

There is a reason you’re not with him anymore. You broke his heart, and my other best friend and I were there to pick up your mess that you created. He was heartbroken. You made posts on that stupid instagram account you have for spam saying how you couldn’t care less. We all know you do. FFS, you dated him and fucked with him for a year and a half. The moment you saw me come in and visit him more, you got jealous. So what did you do? The day after I slept there with our friends, you showed up and said “That bitch better not be there” and waited. He told me. However, it wasn’t until a month later that he told me that you, the girl who was so over it, came to his house and did what you had to do. If you were so over it, why did you and your friends have to screenshot my posts, take pictures of me in the hallways, message me just to be mean, & last but certainly not least, make a post on instagram not only calling him a piece of shit, but also spreading rumors saying I slept with him when you were dating (which you weren’t from over a year ago), calling me a slut who’s ‘trying to get with a junkie’. You wanna talk about ‘girl code’? Sweet, thank you for that, for having people come up to me and message me asking about it, taunting me, name calling. I just don’t understand how in a world where we live, when people break up, they are suddenly not allowed to talk to other people ever again?

Just in case you haven’t realized, I don’t care what you think. He is over it, so why can’t you? You’re the one who moved on within two weeks of the breakup, but the second those who realized the kind of person you are dropped you, you’re trying to come back? I don’t understand how in the society that we live in where girls should be supporting each other, you’re still attacking me trying to make me seem like the bad guy, because why, I’m friends with your ex and he likes me? Because I like him too? Ironic how that works. It’s been 8 years that I have known you. Ever since the fifth grade, you have made fun of me, bullied me, made me go home and cry for months because it what, made you feel better? Sleep well at night? Made you think you had power? I’m tired of your games. Why is it that you can’t just let him be happy? Instead, you have to insert yourself back in, thinking you have some power over him. If you cared, had one ounce of respect for him, you would leave the both of us alone. You wouldn’t keep trying to fuck up every good thing he has. The other day, he and I were talking and the fact that you come in and visit him, text him, makes it hard for both sides. I had to tell this person that I love and care about that if you were gonna keep coming around and screwing things up, I’m gonna be done. With it all. So, if you really want to see him lose everything just so you can attempt to make him miserable again, even though he is never, ever getting back together with you for obvious reasons (resulting in him having no one), I suggest you stop.

Sincerely,

The girl you’ve taunted since the fifth grade.
