Somebody
I'm not a somebody
I don't go out all the time
I stay home and dance alone
No matter how stupid I look
I sing to every song on the radio
Even if I don't know the words
I read books within hours
Then sit there to absorb the heartbreak given
Between the pages of a paperback
I draw, scribble, paint, and doodle
No matter how terrible the end result is
I'm not a somebody
I don't even know how to party
I watch the same sappy love movies
And cry every time
I paint my nails a different color each week
Based on my mood that morning
I each junk food all day
Then convince myself a single apple will balance it out
I'll wear makeup when I want to feel pretty
With sweatpants because deep down
I just don't care
I'm not a somebody
I don't have fame on or offline
I sit in coffee shops in hopes someone will come in
With a book I haven't yet read
I make new friends and try really hard
To remember the little details that make them unique
I'm passionate about my opinions and fight
Even when the world says no
And my conscious is the only one saying yes
I cannot begin my day if my bed isn't made
I'm not a somebody
I don't have a million followers
I dig through my drawers to unveil
Old and precious treasures
I love the sound of rain drops hitting my window at night
I don't understand the latest trends
Or styles girls my age follow
I own multiple planners and notebooks
Yet still forget to buy milk on the way home
I'm not a somebody
I'm not an anybody, really
I guess
I'm just
Me
