Somebody I Don't Know

I used to know her well.

She was a little girl with brown thick hair, bangs, freckles, and a precious smile.

She liked her family and Winnie The Pooh and the family pets.

Everyone was her friend.

Like childhood friends do, we drifted.

She goes by he now, and everything seems different.

His bangs are gone and he's distant from his family now.

Half the time he's home he's either fighting, crying, or listening to others do so.

All he has anymore are pets and fictional worlds to hang onto, and those are leaving him one by one as well,

This isn't the little girl I once knew and loved.

This person is no longer my old friend.

This is a stranger who I feel no connection to.

Someone i thought I recognized, but was mistaken.

Oh well, that happens all the time.
