Somebody I Once Knew

She was small and innocent
Naive to the world around her
The thoughts of darkness were persistent
She thought it would last forever
Pieces fell and shattered like glass
Her tears were like a waterfalls in an ocean no one could see
Drowning and praying for a pass
Eventually she fell to her knees

I look back and see her sadness
I see her struggles throughout my own epiphany
My friend my child my wonderful wilderness
Her screams echo through my body like a symphony
She fell so far from the hilltop of expectations her parents had built
I carried her through the water and back into her feet
I showed her the future, she would not be beat
We helds hands tight and kissed the stars
She was able to take off her clothes and show them her scars

She grew and she flew from the bottom to the top
Here I am with an angel from below
We grew together and left behind our past
We fly into the unknown, me and my past.
