Someday

I look into his eyes and my heart skips a beat,
he looks into mine searching, probing for a sign.
A sign that maybe I like him too.
He sees through my disabilities,
to the person behind them.
His laugh makes me smile,
and his smile makes me melt.
His hand covers mine as he looks into my eyes,
he gives a small smile when I don't let go.
He doesn't have to tell me he likes me,
I already know.
I haven't told him how I feel,
for fear of losing his friendship.
He hasn't told me how he feels,
for fear I will reject him.
We both like each other,
but neither will tell.
So here's to someday,
someday when we both say yes to the longing in our hearts.
