Somehow
You get this notion, sometimes
Reaching from inside, somewhere
Leaving a vacant feeling of missing, something
Sometimes somewhere something doesn’t fit
Sometimes it doesn’t have to fit
Sometimes you think you want it to
Sometimes it only fits the way you need it to
But this dismal tug from inside
Somewhere, it gives you something
Somewhere, inside that gaping hole, you gain
Somewhere, this unquantifiable feeling
Makes sense and eases your mind from emptiness
Something is left to wonder, ponder, feel
Something to feel sad and lost about
Something to leave you with a sense of purpose
A necessary fallacy that lies to your inner most needs
I tell myself, lost girl, you need to be happy
But I found happiness, and only felt astray
As tears would swell and fall, I felt comfort
This familiar despair had kissed me again
Without reason, I drifted to sleep in contradiction
This lonely hallow grief made me feel whole
The gaping hole inside made me complete
For some reason, this sadness made me happy
Somehow somewhere something makes sense…sometimes
