Someone Does Care
Pleas, anguished cries
Torn from the throat
Of an innocent child
Why?
The bruises, cuts, and scars
Who knows what they could be from
Or who could have put them there
Who could have gone that far?
He's torn up inside
He won't tell anyone
Who would believe him?
He'd rather die.
His friends see the marks
And when they ask
He blows it off
But it's destroying his heart.
So he tries to move on
By putting on a happy smile
Yet somebody sees through
His stories and facade.
And that one person
Who finds it in their heart
To be suspicious and call for help
They are the greatest ones.
They prod and plead with the children
To tell them what's happening
And in the end, they save a life
From being destroyed ever again.
So, if anyone ever notices
Something this tragic
Call for help, make a change
For the children with the oppressed voices.
One person can't do it all alone
Wars can't be won individually
But the tides of battle can be turned
If many decide to stand strong.
