Someone Like Me
I can't make you
See
What you can't see
On your own
I can't lead you
To the center of me
Unless you want to know
And I can't let go
If you can't let go with me
You have to make me feel
Like you're worth it
Like this is real
Like the risk
I'm risking
Is worth my time
And potential damage
Because
Underneath the surface
Where no one gets to
There's so many parts to me
Another part that you
Could get to
If you really wanted to
But you have to work for it
Because
I can't give you
Every piece
I can't hold your hand
And walk you through this
Deep breaths
Steady your heart
I know the closer you get
The closer you feel to falling apart
Drowning in me
But trust me
The deeper you get
The deeper you'll fall
You just need to break in
And break down these walls
So tell me
How you plan
On getting inside
To me
Where no one gets to see
Tell me
How someone like you
Plans to get inside someone like me
Past all the defenses
Past all the pretenses
And layers
Tell me
How someone like you
Plans
On getting close
To someone like me
