Someone To See Me

I wish someone understood the things I don't say because when I do speak, no one listens without calling it dramatic and the silence wraps around me tight and lonely the way I pretend I'm fine even when my chest feels heavy the way I look away so no one sees how much I'm holding in the way I hold everything in because it feels safer than being misunderstood the way I stay quiet, hoping someone notices without me having to explain the way it would mean everything if someone finally sees me sees the real me sees the hurt l hide sees the strength I carry sees the softness i never show sees the things I've been holding in sees the person I'm trying to become and maybe one day, someone will and maybe they won't but I still keep hoping in the quiet way I do
