Someone...Anyone

Location

Who do I write for you ask?

Will I ever be heard?

I write hoping someone will listen.

Someone…anyone.

I write for the women who have been exiled by their friends,

Not feeling pretty enough, rich enough, good enough.

I write for the men who are not part of a group,

Too weak, too dumb, too insecure.

I write for the gossips, the nerds, the jocks,

Confused teenagers trying to determine their place.

I write for the do-gooders, the politicians, the priests,

That one day they can save the world.

I write for victims of abuse, the addicts, the broken,

Lost, struggling to find comfort, peace, a friend.

I write for the proud, the strong, the brave,

That they can lead, speak out, extend a hand.

Life is hard sometimes.

You get lonely, people talk, you lose your way.

Work gets overwhelming, school gets frustrating,

And then where are you? What are you left with?

When the world appears to turn its back, I write.

I don’t know who will hear me.

But I write to feel better,

To know I’m not alone.

So who do I write for you ask?

Will I ever be heard?

I write hoping someone will listen.

Someone…anyone.
