Something

We all say we want to be something.

Something eye-catching so that someday,

somewhere,

someone notices.

We've become fixated on making ourselves

bigger that we've forgotten what it was like

to be the one,

the one on the bottom.

We've forgotten what's brought us here,

what we wanted to become.

We wanted to be the light that brought people

out of darkness.

But too often we become the people

that drag others

into it.

I don't know if it's true for everyone,

but I don't want to just keep going on everyday,

through the

same exact motions.

The cycle becomes never-ending,

and the roads become travelled often.

It's time to bring the light back.

Time to open new doors,

make a new path,

and work toward a new future.
