"Something about being young"

Something about being young,

that makes my heart pull in many ways.

My thoughts are jumbled;

my mind in a haze.

"Get married, have children, and do what you should."

We're taught that this is the key to our lives being good.

With hollow cheeks, and sunken in eyes,

people obliviously live such dull lives.

I want so much more than just a lucrative career.

I want to follow my passions and overcome my fears.

I want to live, I want to inspire,

and I will do anything that sets my soul on fire.

So right now, with a thudding heart, and a tight chest-

I vow to never be like the rest.
