Something about the stars
I like to watch the stars in the sky the way children look at fish in ponds.
The key is to walk up in the hills away from all the lights of the city
You have to walk far enough to smell the dirt and feel the wind uninterrupted by buildings.
When the wind tries to push you off the hills, you sit down
Breath the night and turn your eyes up.
Bone by bone let your spine sit on the dirt.
And there’s the entire universe right above.
Little lights dying to be discovered, they dare me to know them
What I’d give to walk among them
But looking up it’s like swimming.
I could swim through the thick darkness that would dare separate the stars.
And sure enough my legs could leave this earth forever
I would never look back once I was with them
It’s because the possibilities are endless out where no one is.
I want to go where no man would want to go
I want to find the oceans and deserts of stars.
I exist in the universe and it in me still I want more perfect a union
